Cleveland Scholastic Rowing Association (CSRA) offers a coed youth rowing program. This is open to upcoming 7th-12th graders. The rowers will be divided between returning Varsity, Novice and Learn to Row (LTR). Varsity is open to those 10th-12th grade who have rowed for at least one year and have competed in Midwest Juniors. Practices are 6 days per week and athletes will compete in several regattas throughout the year. Novice is open to 9th - 12th grade with less than one year experience. Practices & regattas are similar to Varsity, although Novice rowers will compete with fellow Novice rowers. Learn to Row (LTR) is for 7th-8th graders who wish to learn the sport of rowing. Practices are three days/week. LTR athletes will not compete in regattas. Rowing is an endurance & conditioning building sport that can become ideal for cross-training - a special benefit to those athletes choosing winter only sports such as basketball, swimming or volleyball. It is also effective in fostering personal development through the teamwork requirement of Crew. WHAT TO WEAR/BRING: Please wear tight fitting workout gear (compression gear is best). Loose shorts, t-shirts are likely to get caught in the equipment. Running shoes & extra socks are always good to have on hand. Please also bring a refillable water bottle. A smile & good attitude can't hurt either. REGISTRATION: Parents/Guardians: Please click any registration link on this website. Create a login and keep the login information for future use.
